Nagaur Fair Itinerary


This is a suggested tour Itinerary for the one who is going to visit Nagaur cattle Fair. You can change as per your plan. Hope it turn out to be useful for you.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 01, Arrival / Delhi
We will meet you on arrival at the international airport and take you to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure so you can relax or explore the city at your own pace.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 02, Delhi
Full day city sightseeing of New Delhi & Old Delhi. You will see Rajghat, Akshardahm Temple, Jama Masjid, Lal Qila, Humayuns Tomb, Qutab Minar and Lotus Temple. Evening take orientation drive on Rajpath. Overnight in Delhi.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 03, Delhi / Jodhpur / Nagaur
After breakfast we will transfer you to airport for your flight to Jodhpur. On arrival at Jodhpur you will be drivern 3 hrs to Nagaur. You will stay at a camp and evening is at leisure.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 04, Nagaur
Nagaur cattle fair is held every year in the month of January or February. During the fair Nagaur is a sea of animals, trading over 76000 bullocks, camels and horses every year. The bullocks are known for their fleetness. Not only are the animals lavishly decorated, even their owners flaunt wearing colourful turbans and long moustaches. Overnight at camp.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 05, Nagaur Fair
Today explore the fair ground on your own and be a part of it. Evening dinner with local folk entertainment. Overnight Camp.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 06, Nagaur / Jodhpur
Morning free for independent activties or explore the fair ground. Later drive 3 hrs to Jodhpur. On arrival stay at Hotel for overngiht.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 07, Jodhpur / Udaipur
Morning city sightseeing of Jodhpur visitng Mherangarh Fort and walled city of Jodhpur. Later drive 5 hrs to Udaipur enroute visiting Ranakpur. Overngight Hotel.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 08, Udaipur
Morning city sightseeing tour visiting City Palace, City Museum and Sahelion ki Bari. Spend the evening at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 09, Udaipur / Nimaj
After breakfast drive 4 hrs to Nimaj. On arrival check into Camp. Evening jeep safari to Bishnoi villages or explore th surroundings on your own. Overnight Camp.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 10, Nimaj / Jaipur
Spend the morning at leisure. Later drive 4 hrs to Jaipur. On arrival check into hotel for overnight.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 11, Jaipur
Morning excursion to Amber. Afternoon city sightseeing City Palace, Jantar Mantar & Hawa Mahal, the palace of winds. Overnight Hotel.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 12, Jaipur / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra
After breakfast drive 5 hrs to Agra. En route visit Fatehpur Sikri. Overnight hotel.

Nagaur Fair 2013 – Day 13, Agra / Delhi / Departure
Early morning visit to Taj Mahal at sunrise. After breakafst city sightseeing of Agra city. Later drive 5 hrs to Delhi international airport for flight to onward destination. Note – Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.

Nagaur Fair

Nagaur fair or Nagaur Festival popularly known as the cattle fair of Naguar is the second largest fair held in India Which last for four days and is held every year in the month of Jan-feb and this time the fair is being celebrated from 17 February -20 February 2013 in Nagaur. Nagaur a Rajput township in the state of Rajasthan attracts large number of tourist during this Nagaur fair .

Nagaur Festival of is a cattle fair and nearly 76000 camel, horses, bullocks, cows and oxen are traded in this festival. These animals are decorated and well groomed with the accessories by the owner and their owner itself are dressed up in typical traditional dress up and wearing colourful turbans. Apart from the trading of animals other attractions include wooden items and Mirchi bazaar the largest red chilly market of India, Iron-crafts and the accessories made up of camel leather. Four Day Nagaur festival of Rajasthan is organized by the tourism department of Government of Rajasthan. As per the latest statistical information approximately 80,000 owners to take part in this festival and more than 2, 10,000 cattle’s will be traded.

Mean while the trading of animal takes place there are other activities which go along with the fair that are camel races, cock fights, bullock races and tug-of-war. You will also experience puppeteers, story tellers and jugglers. Campfire evenings along with the Dance performances by the locals and the folk music of Jodhpur echoing wide across the tranquil desert sand and throughout the fair makes this festival a life time experience for the one.
