Haflong, Assam’s Hill Station


Among the many hill stations of Assam Haflong is one of the hill stations which is visited the most because of its beautiful lush green hill and sloppy mountains. Haflong serving the headquarters of Dima Hasao is located at an altitude of 680 meters above the sea level.

Every year In the month of January and March skiing festival is organized by the winter games federation of India. In the year 2010 Auli hosted the SAF winter games. Auli has variety of other things to offers to its tourist which are skiing training course that is conducted for the span of 7days or 14days by a Government agency (GMVNL) where modern techniques are been taught by the professional skiers to the person who enrolled for the course.

Places to visit around Auli are Badrinath, Joshimath, Chenab lake, Chattrakund, Nandprayag and Rudraprayag last but not the least Kalpvriksha which is one of the oldest trees in India almost 1200 years old. When you are travelling to Auli it is advisory to keep woolen clothes along with all the necessary things like snow boots, gloves, muffler, caps, wind-proof jacket etc as the temperature in Auli may drop to -8 degree C.
