Happy Holi

Holi originally known as Holika is an ancient festival of India and opening festival of the Hindu calendar. Holi falls on the full moon day of the month of Phalgun as per the Hindu calendar. This two day
festival is celebrated by young old , rich poor. It brings lot of joy and verve throughout the country.

The day before the full moon day of the Holi is called as the Small Holi. Day for bonfire. At the previous night of full moon heap of wood is mad and is burnt to ashes. This is called holika dahan. People gather around the fire and enjoy by dancing and singing. Next morning the ashes from the bonfire are collected as prasad and tarnished on the limbs of the body.

Next day comes the most awaited day , the day full of beautiful colors , water balloons. You will get toy here popular slogan HOLI HAI. People throw gulal on each other , children throw colorful balloons. Its literal a festival of colors and absolute fun. Whatever may be the choice of color, nobody remains in their original touch at the end of the play. And everybody get entertained by looking at the other. Its hard to recognize people at one go.

Admist of these colouring games are savoured the mouth watering holi specialities like gujiya, malpuas, mathri, puran poli, dahi badas etc and downed with glasses full of thandai.
