Desert festival of Jaisalmer that is held in February every year is a gaudy and vivid festival. Everything you will witness here is Exotic – Let it be Camel races, cultural events, turban tying competitions. And yes don’t forget to attend the contests to judge the man with the best mustache, this is very popular amongst foreigners. This is simply because of the surprise value attached to this event. One can see Foreigners posing for pictures with the winners of the various competitions. This is truly a moment worth cherishing.

During the desert festival, the sands around Jaisalmer are adorned with vibrant tint of music and dance, followed, with sounds of laughter and joy. The rich culture of the region is on display during these three daylong extravaganza. The three-day event is focused more on local elements and heritage. It was started to attract foreign tourists, who always wanted to explore as many gimmicks of Rajasthan as they could in the possible crunch of time.

Most importantly it will be a state of surprise when you will see marvels Gair and Fire dancers that are the major attraction of the desert festival celebrations. Amazing contest including a turban tying competition and Mr. Desert contest further enhances the fun of the occasion. A trip to the Sam sand dunes gives a grand ending to this colorful event where you will enjoy camel rides and brilliant performance by the folk artist under the full moon against the backdrop of quaint dunes.
