27th Surajkund International Crafts Mela

Surajkund, also known as the Peacock lake, owing to its pleasant beauty is currently a renowned tourist destination in Haryana state. Water sports activities like kayaking are also an attraction at this lake.


In the ambiance of the lake, during the spring season, each year from 1-15th February, a colourful ancient craft pageant of India is held within the precincts of SurajKund, Faridabad, Haryana. President of India will inaugurate this mela. This crafts mela was initialy started in 1987.Well known traditional craftsman (artists, painters, weavers and sculptors) from different parts of the country participate during this annual celebration named “Surajkund Crafts Mela”.


The craftspeople from everywhere India, SAARC and different neighboring countries like Thailand and Egypt would be merchandising the most effective of Hand looms and Handicrafts things. Karnataka, the Theme State of this year’s Mela is thought for its monuments, handicrafts, loom and cooking.


Organized annually by the Haryana tourism Department, the Surajkund fest additionally permits you to shop for some nice works of artists that contain Handlooms and Handicrafts items, paintings, wood stock, textiles, terracotta, stonework, ivory work and grass work. Besides, treat your souls with beautiful Natyashala folks dances, provide yourself fully to the adorned musical evenings organized at the AL fresco theater.

    It all seems so beautiful. I have never traveled past Canada and Mexico. India is one of the many exotic destinations I wish to visit. I hear (though) that it is dangerous to eat the food and drink the water. Is this true? or is it hear-say?

      No it is not at all dangerous to eat or to drink but yet you need to be careful from where you buying thins ! India is just as you said exotic destination to visit 🙂

      why not sachin you must visit it and ticket cost is very low and you will get to vitness a lot more than our post says 🙂
