International Kite Festival

Ahmedabad, the capital city of Gujrat is celebrating International Kite Festival (Uttarayan) today. This festival has got its own charm, right from the start of the day till the sunset the skies are full with kites with all shapes and sizes and when I say kites not just ordinary kites but kites got some fantastic designs, beautifully crafted into kite papers.

Every year on 14 January International Kite Festival is celebrated and in morning at 5am the alarm rings and the kite flyer are out of their shells to just let their kites talk with skies , wind though plays and important role to lift up ones kite high up in the sky and then the competition begins of cutting one another’s kite and everyone has got its own style of cutting others kite and when you win over this battle of cutting kite the joy and the energy that is in your face and words is just amazing.

Kite festival engages every one not only you will find kids enjoying this festival but ladies also are keen to take part in this festival , people from around the world come and take part in this festival you will see some of the great Foreign Kitist taking part in this festival. This year apart from kite flying competitions there are some other activities which will take place like light and sound show and workshops and training session on how to make kites.

    Wow, in punjab it is during basant that kites are flown ..

      rite at the time of basant sky if full of different kite all around the punjab and the joy of cutting others kite is just amazing then to shout loud oye oye katti booo 🙂 🙂
